Cubs, District Events, Scouts

Our Cubs and Scouts show they have good quiz brains.

2 November 2016

Cubs and Scouts from across the Lowestoft district had their knowledge tested recently when they took part in a fun quiz.

The brainteaser contest, which is an annual event, was held at the Poplars school in Lowestoft.

The quiz was divided into four rounds with questions on theme tunes, general knowledge, scouting and logos – compiled by young people from the Explorer Scouts.

Seven Cub packs took part in the younger section with each team made up of six cubs, with two aged eight, two aged nine and two aged ten.

Assistant District Commissioner Jo-Anne Harley was the question master for the Cubs quiz and she said, “it was a very close contest and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I was very impressed by how much these youngsters know.

The winners were 1st Blundeston with 1st Pakefield in second place and a tie for third place between 1st Carlton Colville and 14th Lowestoft.

Meanwhile seven teams of Scouts battled it out in the older section with Assistant District Commissioner Mark Hansen awarding the winner’s trophy to 14th Lowestoft ‘A’ (victors for the second year running), with second place going to 4th Lowestoft ‘A’ and third place to 1st Oulton Broad.
