Scouts aim is good

Scouts from all over the Lowestoft district showed that they could hit the target when they took part in the annual shooting and archery competitions at 4th Lowestoft headquarters recently.
 
Six teams, each of three scouts, had the targets in their sights as they competed in the air rifle event at the indoor range – with 1st Blundeston eventually taking the glory with a score of 196. 14th Lowestoft ‘A’ were runners-up with a score of 170 and 14th Lowestoft ‘B’ came third with a score of 162. The crack shot with the highest individual score of 67 was Ollie Southern from 1st Blundeston group.
 
In fine weather bows and arrows were the alternative weapon of choice for the seven teams that took part in the archery competition. Shooting at targets from distances of 10m and 20m the four scouts from 4th Lowestoft were the eventual victors with a score of 205. 14th Lowestoft ‘A’ were runners-up with a score of 180 and 1st Blundeston came third with a score of 159. The top archer with the highest individual score of 70 was Jamie Peek of 4th Lowestoft
