Scout’s bowling is on target in ten-pin contest

6 March 2018

The first challenge competition of the year saw teams from across the district’s scout groups send pins flying in the annual Lowestoft Scouts tenpin bowling competition. Demonstrating both skill and precision, eight teams battled it out for the honours in a fiercely fought competition, which was held at Richardson’s Family Bowl Centre. Each team bowled in two games in a bid to claim top place in the contest, with their combined score counting towards the final result.

Making the presentations at the end of the contest, Assistant District Commissioner for Scouts, Mark Hansen praised all players and said that he was impressed with the bowling skills on show. The overall winning team was from 14th Lowestoft ‘A’ team scoring 821 points, with 1st Carlton Colville in second place with 805 points and 1st Pakefield in third place with 719 points. Thomas Anderson, of 14th Lowestoft group, achieved the highest individual score of 193 beating his nearest opponent by just one point.
