Strikes by Scouts bring Bowling Success

2 March 2015

Pins went flying as ball after ball hit the target in the annual Lowestoft Scouts tenpin bowling competition.

Teams from all the district’s scout groups battled it out for the honours in a fiercely fought competition held at Richardson’s Family Bowl Centre.

Ten teams of six players bowled in two games each in a bid to claim top place in the contest, with their combined score counting towards the final result.

Making the presentations, ADC (Scouts) Mark Hansen praised all players for supporting the competition and said that he was impressed with the bowling skills on show and by the number of players scoring ‘strikes’ by hitting all ten pins with one ball.

The overall winning team was 4th Lowestoft scoring 1022 points, with 1st Pakefield in second place with 796 points and 1st Blundeston in third place with 771 points.

The highest individual score was achieved by Brandon Greenwood of 1st Blundeston with 250 points – for which he received the bowling pin trophy.
