Striking success for Cubs ten-pins bowlers

12 March 2017

Ball after ball was launched down the lanes towards the target with varying degrees of accuracy in the annual Lowestoft Cubs tenpin bowling competition.

Teams from all the district’s seven cubs groups battled it out for the honours in a fiercely fought competition held at Richardson’s Family Bowl Centre.

Teams of six players bowled in two games each in a bid to claim top place in the contest, with their combined score counting towards the final result.

Making the presentations, ADC (Cubs) Jo-anna Harley praised all the players for supporting the competition and said that although still competitive there was a friendly and happy atmosphere between the groups. The results were really close and the bowling skills on show were impressive – especially the number of players scoring ‘strikes’ when all ten pins went flying.

The overall winning team was 1st Oulton Broad scoring 1060 points, with 1st Pakefield in second place with 987 points and 14th Lowestoft in third place with 953 points.

The highest individual score was achieved by Harvey Ansdell of 1st Oulton Broad with 211 points – for which he received the bowling pin trophy.
